Home to some of the most distinguished schools in Ocean County and New Jersey. Point Pleasant Schools include two grammar schools; Ocean Road School and Nellie Bennett School , one junior high school; Memorial Middle School, and one high school; Point Pleasant High School.

Point Pleasant Beach Schools include Antrim Elementary School and Point Pleasant Beach High School.

Ocean County College, New Jersey's first community college, is only seven miles away, in neighboring Toms River.

Point Pleasant is surrounded by water and is dissected by the historic Point Pleasant canal. The canal, which was built in the early 1900's, runs from the Manasquan River to the Barnegat Bay.
